Green Goddess

Not only is Arbonne consciously aware of their carbon footprint, but they actively try to reduce their impact. Well, I'm increasing my [green] impact today, with my Green Goddess protein shake, that is!! I decided to stray away from the traditional mixed berries shake (which is mighty tasty as well) but I wanted to incorporate my veggies for the day! Here's what I blended in my "hand-me-down we're moving to Hawaii blender" I got from a relative:

Amy's Green Goddess Shake (Rattle and Roll):
8oz water, almond or rice milk
2 scoops vanilla protein
1/2 scoop fiber (I just put this in everything throughout my day, so I only use 1/2 scoop at a time)
1/4c whole walnuts
3 stems or so of washed kale
handful of spinach
1 heaping teaspoon of ground flax seed
BLEND! I blended for a while so I wouldn't have any notorious vegetable strings!! It is super yummy but definitely needs to be served chilled!

Enjoy ladies! I don't know any other reason to incorporate incredible new vegetables and fruits into our diets other than YOU! Celebrate YOU and I'll celebrate with YOU!

Xo,
Amy

  1. Sounds very refreshing.......my newest find is a plain protein shake,,,,,,,was only doing a blended one with berries.....but Amy & I visited Monday and she told me she just has a plain one.......I ended up using 1 c. almond milk and had to add some water to thin it down and it was very good.......but now I am going to try the "Green" version.....thanks for sharing AMY! love your mom :)

  2. Alright, I have to admit, I was a bit scared to try Amy's "Green Goddess Goodness". And, to make things worse, she made me try it in front of a brand new prospect...in a public place! Its hard to make a mad dash to the sink/toilet/back yard when all of those things are through a locked door and around 16 corners. :) so, I put on my Big Girl Panties and took a whopping sip of the stuff...and to my surprise, it actually tasted good! I love love LOVE this detox because it makes you taste better. You will end up liking things you have never liked before. You will appreciate healthy food, and eventually, (I promise) it will not be a chore to cook this way. My boyfriend, Mike, is actually AMAZED at how yummy our meals are. Granted, he wants 13 helpings lol.

Thanks for the recipe, Amy! I'm gonna post one of my new favs...bam bam baaaaa....

    Amaranth Blueberry Pancakes!
    1/3 cup amaranth flour
    1/3 cup brown rice flour
    2 T cornstarch
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 egg
    2/3 cup rice milk
1 tsp canola oil (plus 2 T or more for frying)
    fresh or frozen blueberries
    agave nectar

Beat the egg, add the rice milk and 1 tsp canola oil. In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients, then add to the egg mixture. Preheat a large frying pan, then add 2 T canola oil. When oil is shimmering hot, spoon the batter into the pan. Add a small handfull of blueberries to the pancakes while they are cooking. After a few minutes, when bubbles form on the surface, flip the pancakes to brown the other side. Drizzle with (amber) agave nectar and serve!
